Childminder Induction Training

Course Title: Childminder Induction Training (CIT)

 Course Description & Content

Our Childminder Induction Training is ideal for childminders who need to fulfill Ofsted registration requirements.

As well as covering essential skills and knowledge for working with children (known as the Common Core of Skills and Knowledge for the Children’s Workforce), our induction course focuses on the basics of providing a childcare service in your own home such as meeting the needs of individual children in your care, partnership with parents and the business aspects of childminding.

We have also included a module on the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) which provides an introduction to the framework for practitioners new to childminding.

During the course, childminders will develop their own portfolio file of evidence to assist them with their Ofsted inspection and their professional practice.

Delivery & Support

Our childminder induction course can be delivered as classroom based training (for local authorities only), a mixture of classroom and online support, or online only. Regular 1-2-1 personalised support is given to childminders who prefer to use some online training to compile their portfolio.

Assessment & Support

There is no formal assessment for this course. However, if you would like to continue with your professional development by progressing on to our accredited courses, our reward system will give you Progress Points for the learning you have completed on the induction course, which you use to show immediate progress on your next course.
