Level 3 Diploma for CYPW

Course Title:  CACHE Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce

Course Description

Our online Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce is a new qualification. The Diploma CYPW replaces existing childcare qualifications including NVQ in Children’s Care, Learning and Development (CCLD) and the Diploma in Home-based Childcare (DHC).

Similar to the NVQ in Children's Care, Learning and Development, this new children and young people’s qualification is work-based and recognises good practice by assessing skills, knowledge and understanding of childcare practitioners.

Course Delivery

The course is delivered as an 1-2-1 personalised online home study course so you can work through the course independently while receiving regular individualised support from your tutor.

The online delivery includes a portfolio of evidence (online coursework)

  • Provides you with the knowledge required for the course
  • Stores assignments for you and your personal 1-2-1 tutor to access
  • Tracks your progress and gives you an indication of your anticipated completion
  • Communication between learner and tutor (assessor) is via email and telephone, you choose

Assessment & Support

Methods of assessment range from professional discussions, direct observations in your workplace, written assignments and case studies. Some of these will take the form of direct observations in your work setting whether it is home-based or in a nursery setting.

Your personal tutor will work closely with you, providing 1-2-1 regular tutorials by telephone and email.

Course Duration

Depending on the time you can commit to study:

  • The full diploma can normally be completed in 9 - 12 months
  • 650 learning hours including time spent in your setting

Suitable for

The course is suitable for practitioners aged 19+ working in an early years setting interested in gaining a professional level 3 qualification.
