Practitioners need to constantly improve their service, skills and knowledge in order to help children have the best start in life. This is achieved by a combination of ongoing experience, training and continued professional development (CPD). The training path for new childcare practitioners usually starts with Paediatric First Aid and continues through to Level 3 and on to the foundation degree leading to Early Years Professional Status.
